Italy’s Cesare Cassaday has been booked as the top scorer at the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2023 after opening the scoring in the semifinals against South Korea.
Cassaday opened the scoring in the semifinal against South Korea on Monday (Sept. 9). He opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a powerful right-footed mid-range shot from the center of the field. It was his seventh goal of the tournament.
He led the tournament in scoring 메이저사이트. He now has a two-goal lead over Brazil’s Marcos Leonardo, who is second in scoring. He is also two goals behind Colombia’s Oscar Cortes and Ecuador’s Justin Cuero (both on four goals).
The countries of the second- and third-place players have been eliminated. They can’t play anymore. Uruguay’s Andersson Duarte is the only player with three goals left to play. Duarte will need to score at least four goals in the final against Italy to overtake Cassaday.
As the de facto top scorer, Casaday will be looking to win both the title and the Golden Ball. If the Azzurri beat Uruguay in the final on December 12, they will win the triple crown. He will also challenge Elling Holland’s nine goals at the 2019 tournament, as well as Javier Saviola (11 in 2001) and Adai Uton (10 in 1997), the first and second highest scorers of all time in a single tournament.
